With over $1.8 million raised since 1994
The Somers Education Foundation (SEF), established in 1994, is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization comprised of parents, school representatives and community members. SEF supports Somers schools by raising funds for specific student and teacher-initiated projects that enrich the educational experience and are not funded by the district’s budget.
As of March 2024, SEF has awarded $1.8 Million across 450 grants and scholarships to the SCSD.

We were excited to host our 2023 SEF Honoree Awards Celebration honoring Doreen Stoecker, Jeff Feldman, and Dominic Veltri this past April at Anglebrook Golf Club. It was a fun night for all!! Who will be our honorees for 2024?! Please feel free to nominate someone you feel is deserving by emailing info@sefny.org. Thank you to all our SEF Hall of Fame honorees for all they have done and continue to do for our community and the students of the Somers Central School District.
November is a time for giving thanks and we are Thankful for all that our supporters do for us on an ongoing basis to support our mission. We continue to award grants and scholarships to teachers and students in the Somers Central School District (SCSD).

What a wonderful night at the Somers Democratic Club Dinner, where the Somers Education Foundation received the Community Appreciation Award in recognition of our grantmaking and scholarship awarding abilities for the children of Somers. We have now awarded $1.8 million since our 1994 founding. I was so honored to represent SEF along with Lindsay Portnoyand Jeff Feldman. Friday, June 16 has been designated SEF Day in Somers and Sunday, June 18 has been designated SEF/Glenn Hintze Day (OMG! :)) in Westchester County. Thank you so much Somers Democratic Club (Lorne Robbins, Christine Robbins), Somers Supervisor Rick Morrissey and Westchester Legislative Chair Mike Kaplowitz!! We are humbled!! Congrats also to my friend Shari R. Gordon for receiving the Democrat of the Year award!
